The article I will be analyzing is entitled "Activity at North Korea nuclear site resumes: monitor". This article is about the fears surrounding North Korea's possible nuclear test. The author uses formal diction. The author says, "Satellite images indicate activity has resumed at North Korea's nuclear test site, US-based analysts said, as tensions remain high over fears of a sixth atomic test by the reclusive state." This is the introductory sentence and it is very informative. Words like "indicate" and "reclusive" are words that can show the reader of the article that the author is formal. This shows the authors informative tone. The purpose of this article is to inform the readers of the state of the nuclear bomb test. Anyone can read the article and know what is going on. The article not only informs the people of North Korea but also people from all over the world. This article appeals to logos. The author includes a photo (shown below) of the suspected activity happening on the nuclear site. This helps the argument because it shows the audience what they are doing.
